The Savannah Chatham County Public Schools stepped up to the plate in a big way following Hurricane Katrina and have continued their support ever since.  Three years ago they began a program called “Dollars for Disasters” to help families in our community that had lost their home to fire.  Each year the number of participating schools and the dollars they have raised have increased.  This past year we had 28 schools participate and raised over $10,000 to help local families.

For the past two years, Dr. Quentina Fields, an employee of the Public School System and a Red Cross Board member, has spearheaded the effort. Thank You to the Savannah Chatham Public Schools and Dr. Quentina Fields!
